Cocoon

Time swirls like clouds
In a blue spring sky
Making shapes, rearranging,
Then passing by
Mornings unfold
As dew awakens
Life is short
It’s all for taking
Summer’s warmth
Seeps inside
Wooing softly
A blushing bride
As leaves blow down
Spring’s slow labor
Is stolen quickly
By it’s neighbor
Then covered swiftly
By winter’s gleam
Softly falling
Appearing clean
And underneath
It’s all beginning
To re-build
There is no ending
For soon the sunshine
Will break free
And decorate
With silent glee
And the world
Before our very eyes
Will soon be filled
With butterflies
Who soar above
From dream to dream
Floating o’er and in-between
Carrying quietly
Within
A cocoon which harvests
What has been.
